Leather working is a hobby and skill I have been learning and developing for the past few years. It is really exciting for me to work with a living material and learn how it changes properties over time.
I am able to earn money selling these customized wallets to people through instagram and word of mouth.
Being able to use something I have made daily has furthered my understanding of what it takes to make a product that lasts.
Much of the leather I use was sourced from an upholstery studio in Brooklyn. They had piles of scrap that were too big to justify throwing away and were happy to see them repurposed.
